Booking an appointment
Our doctors only see children referred by their family physician or other specialists. We require a referral from your doctor before we can schedule an appointment. While we try our best to book your child to see the pediatrician of your choice, this is not always possible.
Cancellation Policy
Your scheduled appointment has been reserved specifically for your child. We require 2 business days' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to book another child, especially those who are on an urgent waiting list.
Parking
Unfortunately, there is no free public parking available near the office. Options for paid parking include:
1) Fairmont Medical Building parking lot; entrance is off of Willow Street
2) Holiday Inn and 777 West Broadway across the street
3) Metered street parking

Our friendly staff will be happy to book you an appointment during our regular office hours.
After-Hours Medical Calls:
Our answering service is available at night and on weekends to receive urgent medical calls related to patients we follow. Our 24-hour number is 604 879 4564. Our on-call doctor may not be able to get back to you immediately if they are busy at the hospital. Please note that we are NOT able to see your child in the Emergency Room at Children’s Hospital, and we are NOT able to make house calls. If your child has a medical emergency that cannot wait, please take them to the nearest Emergency Room or call 911.
We cannot handle urgent matters through this portal. If you have an urgent concern, please contact our office at (604) 879-4564 or go to your local emergency department.

Our team of pediatricians take a collaborative approach to your child’s health care. This means that while you may have one doctor as your primary physician, your file is maintained by the office, ensuring that no matter which of our doctors you see, you will receive continued, consistent care.

I was born and raised in North Vancouver. I traveled east to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology at McGill University in 2004. I then returned to beautiful British Columbia where I obtained my medical degree from the University of British Columbia in 2008. I continued my training in Vancouver at BC Children’s Hospital, completing my Pediatric Residency in 2012. During my residency I acted as Associate Chief and Chief Resident and was active in a number of teaching activities including simulation training for residents.
After working as a Consultant Pediatrician in various communities around the province, I joined Fairmont Pediatrics in 2014. I am currently on staff at Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia and St. Paul’s Hospital. I also work as a Consultant Pediatrician in the Spinal Cord Clinic at B.C. Children’s Hospital and a visiting specialist at Whitehorse Regional Hospital. I am a Clinical Instructor in the UBC Faculty of Medicine and organize the Newborn Care Journal Club.
When I am away from work, I love to spend time with my husband and son. We love to be outdoors, to travel to non-touristy areas and to try new coffee shops around the city. I am an avid exerciser, enjoying running, hiking, spinning and beach volleyball. I always enjoy a good book
Dr. Cynthia Kong
M.D.
I was born and raised in Toronto, and gladly left behind my winter gear and -30C windchill to become a Vancouverite in 2009. I studied Pharmacology in my undergraduate years, and completed medical school at UBC in 2016. I was fortunate to then pursue my lifelong dream of pediatrics at BC Children’s Hospital, completing my Pediatric Residency in 2020. During my residency I acted as Chief Resident, with a focus on resident education, advocacy, and restructuring overnight hospital coverage to meet the needs of our growing inpatient population.
I currently work at Fairmont Pediatrics and BC Women’s Hospital as a consultant pediatrician. I enjoy teaching medical students and residents, and challenging them to apply textbook learning into new clinical settings.
Outside of work, my hobbies are fairly indoors-y. I enjoy strategic boardgames, acrylic painting, expanding my collection of houseplants, and dropping into my local dance studio. Hip hop, dancehall and street are some of my favourite styles. My husband is a teacher for children with special needs, and I love how our areas of expertise complement each other.
What do you love most about your job?
Providing care to newborns, children, and youth is a real privilege. For children with chronic medical conditions, I am passionate about empowering families in their medical journey.
Dr. Robert J. Everett
M.D., FRCPC, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University of BC.
After spending my childhood in the Lower Mainland, and completing an undergraduate degree in Biology at Simon Fraser University, I graduated from the UBC Faculty of Medicine in 1994. After three years at the Montreal Children’s Hospital, and a final year at BC Children’s Hospital, I completed my residency training, and in 1998, joined what is now known as Fairmont Pediatrics.
As a consultant paediatrician, I enjoy caring for children of all ages. I have a particular interest in newborn care, and care of children with medical complexity. From 2017-2022, I was Medical Lead of Pediatrics and Newborn Care at B.C. Women’s Hospital. I enjoy teaching medical students and residents, and I am a regular collaborator for educational activities for family physicians and midwives. I have been honoured several times over the years with BC Children’s Hospital Family Centred Care Award.
My philosophy of care is based on open and honest communication with families, and embracing their role as equals in helping to provide care to the children we see.
I live in Delta and have three adult daughters. My wife is a Child Life Specialist with Fraser Health. In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, fishing and playing golf. In addition, I am one of the original members of the “Pedihatricks” ice hockey team.

Dr. Ai-Lin Tiah
MB BCh BAO, MRCPI, MRCPCH, FRCPC
I graduated with a medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2000. Upon graduation I did a rotating internship year, followed by 2 years of training in General Paediatrics. In the latter 2 years, I obtained the postgraduate qualifications of the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCPI) and Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) from the UK.
I moved to Vancouver with my husband in 2003 and worked as a Clinical Trainee at BC Children’s Hospital for 2 years, before completing my pediatric residency with UBC in 2007.
I am a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Department of Pediatrics at UBC. I have been involved in teaching medical students and being an examiner for pediatric OSCE examinations.
I worked at several pediatric offices in the lower mainland before joining Fairmont Pediatrics in 2008. I work part time as a General Pediatrician with Fairmont Pediatrics. I also previously worked at St. Paul’s Hospital and B.C. Children’s Hospital as a consultant pediatrician.
When I am not working, I am either exercising, voluntering or being a full time mother to 2 school aged children.
I enjoy spending time with my family, baking sinful treats or creating something pretty with my sewing machine.
What do you love most about your job?
Watching my patients grow from newborns to happy and healthy children.
